I'm still alive, just haven't updated my xanga in a while. I guess I ran dry of stuff to "blog" about because all I really do any more is write music and that's boring.
For anyone left in the dust; last month I moved into a house with Haley (girlfriend), Zach (guitarist), and Jared (bassist). It's cool having 3/4 of the band around almost all the time and I've been working my balls of to make sure all the new music I write is better than what I wrote previously. I know some of you all h ave come to see one of my bands, and the one I'm talking about now is Rip the Jacker (the one that doesn't sound like Green Day).
We actually have a show on the 30th of this month in Terre Haute if anyone is interested in checking us out. I don't know how much the ticket prices are, but since we're not playing with any signed or touring bands, it shouldn't be too high, which is good. Conversely, all the bands are from Terre Haute, and I think they're mostly really derivative metal acts, which sucks. One of the bands is actually pretty cool, and they play real fun punk rock that makes you think of a skateboard video from ten years ago.
So yep. All that was just as boring as I thought it was gonna be. Maybe I'll put some lyrics up later, if anyone is interested.
Here are some really sweet videos for some games coming up...
This first is the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts series. According to news put out by game sites, the game WILL NOT be titled Kingdom Hearts 3. I don't know what it will be called. Furthermore, the three armored fighters, while seemingly similar to Riku (tall one), Sora or Roxas (medium sized one) and Kairi (girl), ARE NOT the aforementioned characters. As you see in part 2, the are completely different looking without their helmets. And I will stress this; the one that gets frozen MAY OR MAY NOT BE DEAD, and though he looks similar, he is supposedly not Sora.
So here's part one...
Here's part two.
And this is for the new Final Fantasy, tentatively titled Final Fantasy XIII: The Reason Corey Is Buying A Playstation 3. This will be the only Final Fantasy game since VI (not counting X-2... I don't like to count that as a standalone game) that features a female lead, and she seems at least as much of a beast as Terra. Her name is Lightning though, which I thought was kind of weird until I considered some of the other past hero's names like Cloud and Squall.
When watching, keep in mind that the section in which Lightning does all the jumping around and shooting is what the actual game is going to look like when you are playing it. They have only one word to describe this; it starts with S and rhymes with WEET.
Finally... WHAT KIND OF WEAPON IS THAT? It's like a machine gun that can turn into a sword! Some manner of advanced Gunblade, perhaps? Perhaps!
I don't know much about this one except that the game is called Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and will occur during the same time and world as FFXIII but it will focus on a different character's storyline. Supposedly it will be more action-oriented. It looks as if it may focus on darker themes as well.
This video also serves as ample proof that if Bush equipped all of his soldiers with swords and cool haircuts before sending them to Afghanistan, they would have been MUCH better off, and he would have needed much fewer of them. See, it's a law (commonly known only in some circles) of the universe that if you have a sword, MACHINE GUN FIRE WILL MISS YOU. Your mere intimidating presence will cause your enemies to lose much of their nerve and therefore be unable to aim accurately. And just in case one of the pansies gets lucky, God himself will be on your side (oh, wait, Bush already has that. Hmm.) because He will actually keep bullets away from you as He admires such Herculean levels of courage and ballsiness (<-word of the year).
In case you were interested or perhaps merely wondering what was going on in my life... too bad. No information on that here. Call me and ask.
I'm ridiculously sick right now. At around 11:30 last night, I was at my girlfriend's house and all of a sudden, I felt like someone had opened up a window to allow a snowstorm in and simultaneously directed a space heater at my face. Then I started sneezing like no one's business and getting really weak and shaky. I took that as my cue to leave. I started feeling really bad on the way home and almost turned around to go back to her house about 5 minutes down the highway, but I decided to tough it out. As soon as I got home I took some ibuprofen, which I almost never do in cases like this. Then I didn't wake up until around 1:30 the next day. I stayed up for a while then I kind of lost sense of time, but here I am now, having awakened around an hour and a half ago, and very bored.
So I decided to get on the computer and cheer myself up. Look what I found. This is called Dinosaur Comics. It's pretty simple. The author just rewrites the comic every time, using the exact same frames and pictures.
This comic is VGCats, and it focuses on video game-related material most of the time. It's still funny to people who don't get all of the references.
You'd think if I had a weblog, it would be for a reason like keeping people updated as to what I've been doing. There are a few problems with this, though.
1. Not that many people are really interested.
2. I don't do that many interesting things.
It may be my imagination, but there seems to be a correlation between number 2 and 1. A cause/effect relationship perhaps?
I don't know, but my band, Stars in Static, is playing at the Coffee Break in a little more than a week from now (Mar. 26) and if you aren't there, then you are basically not my friend. I would describe us as energetic, upbeat, smart, heavily punk-influenced pop rock for fans of Brand New, blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, and The Ataris. We're good, I'm not gonna lie. Jared W. (bassist) and I wrote our first song together last night, and I gotta say, if I weren't in this band, we would be one of my favorite bands ever.
I'm gonna post some cool videos now, without any kind of build-up or conversational lead-in.
*edit*
OR MAYBE NOT . I guess xanga is too lame to let you embed code, so... I can't. Laaame.
